FreeTrade – Who Are They?

Freetrade is a trading platform aimed at retail customers in the UK. The company was founded in 2016 to help its clients carry out all their investing transactions.

FreeTrade trading

FreeTrade is a decentralised token exchange and marketplace. They keep client funds and assets in segregated bank accounts, where they are free from any type of interference. FreeTrade Investor helps ordinary traders save money and invest profitably through access to more than 1,600 stocks and ETFs on a commission-free basis.

FreeTrade is unique in the forex market because it is completely free to use. There is no requirement for a minimum deposit, and you do not need any special educational qualification. However, FreeTrade also has some negatives, particularly when it comes to its research tools. There are no analyst recommendations or fundamental data, and charting is fairly limited.

Our Opinion About FreeTrade

In general, we are quite satisfied with the trading platforms’ work and the favourable conditions that FreeTrade offers. The trading platforms are easy to use and intuitive. Its clean design and simple interface make working on such platforms even more convenient.

FreeTrade has been providing in-depth online educational resources to traders since 2016. There is a blog that contains useful articles written by many authors with different levels of trading experience. Unfortunately, there are no educational videos or webinars.

FAQs

Is Freetrade UK only?

No. Besides the UK, Freetrade is also available in Sweden. The broker began offering its services to Swedish investors in 2022 after receiving authorisation from the country’s financial services regulator. According to its website, Freetrade also plans to launch in Australia, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Is Freetrade good for day trading?

Yes. Freetrade is an excellent option for day traders looking for a broker with low trading fees. Day traders get to enjoy its zero minimum deposit requirement. Plus, the broker charges no inactivity, deposit, or withdrawal fees. On top of that, Freetrade offers day traders access to more than 6,000 stocks and ETFs on a commission-free model.

Is Freetrade good for beginners?

Absolutely. Beginners on a low budget will enjoy trading stocks and ETFs for free on the Freetrade app, and you can also buy fractional shares. The app is modern and easy to use and offers a secure trading environment that makes it suitable for novice traders. What’s more, Freetrade features in-depth online educational resources that benefit beginners.

What is the biggest disadvantage of Freetrade?

The main drawback of Freetrade is that the asset choices are limited to stocks, ETFs, REITs and Investment Trusts. Freetrade offers no index funds or mutual funds, which financial advisors typically recommend using to build a diversified and stable portfolio. Futures trading is also not supported at Freetrade, nor is options trading.

Can I open 2 Freetrade accounts?

No. You can only hold one account of each type at Freetrade. According to its terms and conditions, Freetrade reserves the right to close all your accounts if you open duplicate accounts.

I tried to trade with FreeTradex and there were no restrictions on my trading account until I missed my margin call or the stop-out level. After going into the stop-out level, my balance went negative and they got it to reset to zero. I had a good time trading with them and found no restrictions even on their withdrawal frequency. There is a point that they do not offer many deposit methods.

  • Srinivas J says:

  • Adrian says:

A fantastic broker with which to do business. There are no transaction charges and tight spreads, allowing traders to benefit from high frequency trading. You can even take advantage of special deals such as a transferable bonus to double your profits.

  • Stuart Mullender says:

An easy to use investment platform, it makes investing accessible to everyone because there are no high commissions that brokers usually charge. Quickly became my favorite investment account. Very friendly customer service, an evolving app and an ever-expanding range of promotions. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to start investing or anyone looking for a convenient way to manage their finances.

I enjoyed Freetrade so much. It's very user friendly and the support is first class. Though I’d love to have more features and analytics etc. I’m sure they are on the way. I recommend it.

I've been using Freetrade for some years and have only good reviews. Awesome app. Perfect for beginners to stock trading and investment. Good customer support. Easy to use. I like being able to look at what is going on with the shares whenever I choose.

  • John says:

I'm a newbie to investing and don't have a lot of money. But I tried to use Free Trade. Lots of shares & fund options to choose from. Low monthly fees, quick reply to messages updates keep coming. Support is a bit slow too, but they are very polite. I highly recommend!

I used several platforms before, but Freetrade is the best. Zero transaction costs make trading simple. Customer service is excellent, the platform setup is convenient, and the fees are much lower than average. I opened a free trading account to test it, and the app turned out to be very intuitive. Now I recommend it to all beginners—trading with Freetrade is easy and profitable!
